The Growing With Gratitude Program empower’s primary-school aged children with valuable tools and skills to help them lead healthy, successful and productive lives. This contributes to the Education Department’s Wellbeing for Learning and Life Framework, which supports students to be more resilient and engage in positive experiences, form stronger friendships, be more optimistic and show increased self-esteem.

You maybe thinking…

  • What platform will the lessons be on? Zoom. If you are using a laptop or PC, you will just need to click the link. If you will be using an iPad, you will need to download the Zoom app.
  • Is Zoom easy to use? Yes, very easy. At lesson time simply click on a link provided. You can test Zoom to make sure your video and audio is working - TEST ZOOM HERE
  • How will I receive the link? It will be emailed to you before each lesson.
  • Is an iPad or computer better? Both will work. If you are using an iPad, you will need the Zoom app. CLICK HERE TO TEST ON IPAD. Headphones can be worn.
  • I don’t really want others to see my child? That’s totally okay. You are able to turn off your video and audio. They will still be able to see the teacher and chat, but they won’t be seen.
  • Am I required to be on the live lesson with my child? If your child is in Rec/Prep - Year 2, we'd highly recommend you join the lesson. You will play a role in assisting your child with some written tasks and also to help clarify anything with your child.  If your child is in Year 3 - 6 you don't have to join the lesson, but you are more than welcome. And also you will need to be close by for ‘tech support’, just in case:)
  • What will my child need? Your child will need a pen or pencil to write with. Also coloured pencils, textas, crayons, etc will be good to have on hand just in case. There maybe be some resources that will need to be printed. These resources will be sent in the email with the link.
  • What if technology isn’t my thing? That’s okay. Zoom is quite a simple tool to use, so we have tried to make it easy as possible. The classroom will open 10-minutes before start time. This will enable you to be ready.
  • The live lessons will be run from Adelaide, Australia. Please be aware of your time zone:
    NSW, VIC, TAS, ACT: 10.00am
    QLD: 9.00am
    NT: 8.30am
    WA: 7.00am

WHO HAS DEVELOPED GROWING WITH GRATITUDE?

WHO WILL TAKE THE LIVE ONLINE SESSIONS?
Growing With Gratitude has been developed by former primary school teacher Ash Manuel. Ash served as a primary school teacher for 12 years in South Australia. In 2010, while teaching Ash discovered his most significant learning. Resilience, grit and happiness can be practised - in the same way, skills in a sport can be practised. As a result Growing With Gratitude was born.

Growing With Gratitude focuses on teaching children skills based on gratitude, kindness, empathy, positive reflection & serving others, the critical building blocks to resilience, grit & happiness. Today, Ash is widely regarded as a leader in primary school positive education. Growing With Gratitude offers whole school presentations, in-class sessions, student and staff workshops, online programs and now families have been given an opportunity to participate. Growing With Gratitude reaches 100's of thousands of students across the globe and is currently accessed in 45 countries.
Ash will also be responsible for teaching the LIVE ONLINE LESSONS.
